SJS22-23 Prayer and Action Card Bishops lament family, domestic violence in annual justice statement. MEDIA RELEASE August 3, 2022 Australia’s bishops have used their annual social justice statement to condemn the scourge of domestic and family violence, saying relationships must be “marked by respect and freedom rather than coercion and control”. This year’s statement is titled Respect: Confronting Violence and Abuse. The document draws on data around family and domestic violence, and gathers the insights of people – especially women – on that data. It also reflects on the words and example of Jesus.

This will be a great opportunity to shake off the winter chills with some live music, delicious food and great company. We are looking forward to great night of prayer, music, food and fun, and Archbishop Peter will also use this opportunity to launch our pilgrimages to WYD 2023.
