College History

St. Joseph’s College was established in 1965 to serve the Catholic parishes of Bayswater, Belgrave, Boronia, Ferntree Gully and Scoresby. It was built on a piece of land called Brennock Park, previously donated to the Ferntree Gully parish by Michael Brennock. The Salesians of Don Bosco accepted an invitation to staff the school, and they have remained a vital part of the College ever since. As a Catholic school, the College aims to foster Christian values in all aspects of College life and to provide students with a variety of learning experiences. Since foundation, the school has developed, formed and educated thousands of young men.
